Cross the road and head up the small lane next to the War Memorial.
This is Rock Hill and you will find our cottage of the top of the lane, second last house on the left.

Public Transport in the area

Public transport is not widespread and we would recommend hiring a car.

There are however, a number of bus routes as follows:

The Pulhans X9 Bus - which goes to Charlbury and to Witney

The Stage each S3 bus - which goes to Oxford (takes one hour)

The Pelham's 801 Bus - which goes to Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Northleach, Moreton-in-Marsh and to Cheltenham.

There are also local taxi firms in Chipping Norton.

Neighborhood

Our Location is a great base for a fun-filled getaway!

We are situated a very short walk to the centre of ‘Chippy’ (as the locals call it), but we are also at the top of a peaceful no-through lane, so guests can enjoy the perfect mix of a quiet retreat but near to the local activities.

Chipping Norton is one of the Cotswolds' historic medieval wool market towns with lots of Georgian facades. Although quite small, it is very famous due to some of its very well known inhabitants! It has a lovely buzzing atmosphere with restaurants, pubs and shops plus its own theatre and museum.

Jeremy Clarkson’s ‘Didley Squat’ Farm and cafe are just on the outskirts of town and Daylesford Organic Farm, also a 5 minute drive away.

The lovely villages of Kingham and Charlbury are also super close and they have main line train stations for those travelling here without a car.

If you are a member, Soho Farmhouse is also a quick 5 minute drive from us.

There are a host of gorgeous country walks nearby including a walk to the 'Rollright Stone's - the Cotswolds own mini-Stonehenge.

There are many fantastic, destination gastropubs just a short drive away

Famous Cotswolds villages such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Chipping Campden are close by making Chipping Norton a great base for exploring the rest of the Cotswolds AONB but because we are in the West Oxfordshire part of the Cotswolds, we are also close to Bleinheim Palace and Oxford too.
